Location:
Lakkos, Heraklion, Crete

The new Administrative Center of the Region of Crete in Lakkos, Heraklion, centralizes regional administration in a modern public building that is fully integrated into the city. Its design is based on bioclimatic principles and the use of natural materials such as stone, wood, iron, and concrete to create a sense of familiarity. The interior balances institutional stability with an open, human-centered experience. Tsigenis Woodcraft supported the project by providing technical implementation studies for specialized acoustic panels and furniture in workspaces, reception, and waiting areas. Working within strict deadlines, the company delivered durable wooden surfaces for the building’s collaboration and meeting zones, enhancing the overall clarity, structure, and flow of the space.
